Senior Babe Ruth times changed

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Senior Babe Ruth has changed the time for today’s tryout at Saranac Varsity field. The new tryout time is from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Today is the last tryout. Any questions can be directed to Randy Lozier at 572-6563

Elk’s Club announces practice

PLATTSBURGH — The Elk’s Club baseball team will hold practice today and Wednesday from 4:15-5:45 p.m. at the OVAL in front of the City Recreation Center. Any questions can be directed to Randy Lozier at 572-6563.

Run for Rosie this Saturday

CADYVILLE — The 3rd Annual Run for Rosie will take place Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Cadyville Rec. Park.

The event is a one-mile fun run/walk and a three-mile run. Entry fee is $10 per person with the first 150 people receiving a free t-shirt.

Duniho, Murray lead time trials

PLATTSBURGH — Kevin Dnuiho turned out the fastest time of the night on June 13 posting a time of 22:40 in the 10-mile event. Duniho was followed by Kyle Gagnier and Scott Woodward.

Lynne Murray turned in the fastest time for the women, 26:59, followed by Sabine Amoriell.

Mary Duprey was the only rider in the 25-mile event with a time of 63:15 and Devin Gosselin had a time of 25:20 in the 5-mile event.

Sixteen riders participated in the fourth event of the season. The time trials take place on Wednesday nights at the Point au Roche firehouse on Lakeshore Road. The event is free and open to all novice and experienced riders, road bikes or mountain bikes. Helmets are mandatory and all riders must obey the rules of the road.

Sign up starts around 5:30 p.m. with the first rider going out at 6 p.m. Riders interested in the 25-mile event should be prepared to start between 5:30-5:45 p.m.

PLATTSBURGH — Twenty-eight teams competed over two days on two different courses, the Barracks and Bluff Point, with two different formats during the Bud Light Shoot Out.

Golf tournament for cancer June 29

ROUSES POINT — The North Country Cancer Fund will hold its annual golf tournament on Friday, June 29, at the North Country Golf.

This year’s tournament is sponsored by Parker Chevrolet and will include a $10,000 hole-in-one prize along with other hole-in-one prizes. The tournament is a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. and will cost $70 for non-members and $55 for members. This includes golf, cart, shirt, BBQ after play and refreshments on the course. Money raised from this tournament is given to local families who have a loved one stricken with cancer and can use financial assistance.
