Plattsburgh-Oswego game sold out
OSWEGO — Saturday night's men's hockey game between Plattsburgh State and Oswego at the Campus Center Arena has been sold out, Oswego Athletic Department officials announced on Wednesday.

Brunet, Bowman bowl 700s
PLATTSBURGH — A.J. Brunet, bowling in the North Bowl Lanes Junior-Major-Senior League on Jan. 23, tossed a 242-280-221-743 series.
Seventh-grader Jonathan Bowman rolled a 201-256-254-711 series.
Youth Bureau to host free-throw contest
PLATTBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau, in cooperation with the Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department and the Senior Citizens Council, will conduct a free-throw shooting contest Tuesday, Feb. 16 at the Senior Citizens Council on North Catherine St. in Plattsburgh. The event is open to athletes ages 8-18. Registration will open at 10:15 a.m., and the contest will start at 11 a.m. Awards for the free-throw contest will be presented in the following age groups; boys and girls 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-18. Participants are asked to bring a birth certificate to show proof of age. Pre-registration is not required. Call the Clinton County Youth Bureau at 565-4750 for additional information.
Jan. 31 Skating club schedule changed
PLATTSBURGH — There is a time change for Skating Club of the Adirondacks lessons on Sunday, Jan. 31. The Snowplow through Basic 3 levels will skate from 5:15-6:00 p.m. The Basic 4-8, Freestyle and Adults will skate from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Advance Ice lessons will be from 6:45-8:15 p.m. In addition, information packets will be distributed for show parts and the ice schedule for the next session.

Viking race at Beartown Feb. 20
PLATTSBURGH — The Viking race at Beartown Ski Area is now scheduled for Feb. 20. Race registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the race follows at 11 a.m. The annual Beartown Corporate Challenge will be held Feb. 6. Teams of four will be competing on Saturday night under the lights. The entry fee is $100 per team and will be accepted right up to race time. Entry forms may be picked up at the Viking Ski Shop, or received by e-mail at sdemane@verizon.net. The Corporate Challenge is an annual fund raiser to raise money for the not-for-profit ski area.
USBC tourney continues this weekend
ROUSES POINT — The Northern Adirondack USBC Association will continue its Fourth-Annual Tournament this weekend at Bowl Mart Lanes with team, doubles, singles and all-events offered.
Price per event is $18 for the Women's Division with optional all-events of $2, and $20 for the Open Division with optional all-events of $10. Squad times are noon and 3 p.m. on both days. All association members from Bowl Mart in Rouses Point, North Bowl in Plattsburgh, Lakeview Lanes in Tupper Lake and Community Bowl in Chateaugay are welcome to participate, and entry forms are available at all bowling lanes. The tournament is open to walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis.
For the first weekend of the tournament in the Open Division, Bowl Mart I holds the top score in the team competition with a 3,628. The team consists of Todd Forgette, Mike Goyette, Steve Stone, Steve Steele and Mike Watts. Sue Roberts and John Roberts hold the top score in doubles with a 1,448, Sue Roberts holds the top score in singles with a 797, and Watts hold the top score in All Events with a 2,281.
Todd Forgette bowled the high game of 299 and Mike Watts bowled the high series of 778 for first weekend of the tournament.
In the Women's Division, Munchkins posted the top score in the team competition with a 2,612. The team consists of Jennifer Santor, Stephanie Deyo, Meaghan Fresn and Vicky Brunelle. Brunelle and Marquita Deyo hold the top score in doubles with a 1,362, Marquita Deyo has the top score in singles with a 699 and Brunelle the top score in All Events with a 2,057.
Theresa Bosley bowled the high game of 234, and Sheryl Cowen and Theresa Bosley each bowled the high series of 537 for first weekend of the tournament.
All prizes will be given out at the Annual Association Banquet to be held Feb. 28 at Rainbow Banquet Hall in Altona.
