SYRACUSE — The Northern Adirondack volleyball team just couldn't get past Dolgeville.
The Bobcats posted a 3-0 win in their first match against Section IV's Sidney, but fell twice to Section III's Dolgeville, including the final, in the regionals Saturday at Jamesville-DeWitt High School.
"It was a better offensive scheme than we've seen all year, so the girls didn't know how to handle it at first," NAC coach Shae Gilmore said.
Northern Adirondack showed a lot more fight in the final, though. The Bobcats lost a hard-fought first game, 25-23, and then fell, 25-14, in the second game before a tough, 25-8 final.
In the first meeting of the two teams, Dolgeville won by scores of 25-11, 25-15 and 25-17.
"Serving was a lot better in the second match," Gilmore said.
In the final, Kara Perry recorded seven digs and three kills, and Emily Garrand had four digs, four assists and three points.
Northern Adirondack had a tough battle against Sidney in the second game of the match, but came out on top, 31-29.
