CHAMPLAIN — It will be the fifth-straight Section VII Class B volleyball championship meeting between Plattsburgh High and Beekmantown when the two teams clash tonight at the Northeastern Clinton gym.
Plattsburgh defeated NCCS in a 3-0 sweep Friday night in semifinal action, and Beekmantown topped Saranac, 3-1.
It is the ninth time in the last 13 years that the Hornets and Eagles have battled for the Class B crown, with Beekmantown holding a 5-4 advantage in those meetings.
However, the Hornets have participated in each of the last 13 championship rounds, including a 3-1 victory over Beekmantown last year.
The teams split in regular-season play this year.
The Class B match will immediately follow a 5:30 start to the Class C contest between Northern Adirondack and Lake Placid when NAC looks to claim its 28th-straight Class C championship.
