WESTPORT — The Westport Eagles, who captured Div. II Friday night when Wells forfeited, punctuated their championship season on Tuesday with a 74-45 triumph over the Keene Beavers in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference boys' basketball.
Westport (14-1, 12-0) will have the bye for the first round of the conference playoffs and will meet the survivor a week from Friday in Crown Point for the championship.
Nathan Gay and Bo McKinley were the story in the season finale. Gay poured in 33 points with 17 rebounds while McKinley contributed 27 points and nine assists.
The Eagles broke it open with a 26-point third period that was all Gay-McKinley. Gay scored 11 points in the quarter while McKinley hit five of his nine 3-pointers.
Cody Whitney scored 13 points and James Bell, 10, for Keene (5-10, 4-6).
Westport will travel to Plattsburgh High on Monday for a non-league tune-up for the postseason.

CHAZY — The Division II race remains a three-team fight with Willsboro (6-5) waiting to face the winner of tonight's Schroon Lake at Chazy game. Schroon and Chazy are both 5-5 in the division. The Div. II playoff will be played Friday at a site to be determined.

MINERVA — The Div. III champion Orange capped their regular season with an easy victory over the host Huskies.
Kris Bain scored 16 points and Matt Rusch chipped in with 13 for Indian Lake/Long Lake (14-2, 9-2). Jake Wells had a good night on the boards with 13 rebounds.
The Orange will play the winner of Div. I Tuesday in Crown Point in the first round of the MVAC playoffs.
