Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Chateaugay Bowl claims division

You can look back over the last 70 years at some of the area athletes and personalities who made headlines in area sports. Flashback will revive memories of great local athletes and outstanding team successes.

MALONE — Chateaugay Bowl beat back the challenge of second-place Trim's Lawn Care 63-58 last week to wrap up the High Rent District pennant in the Malone Adult Basketball League.

Mike Martin scored 20 points, Mike Castine chipped in with 17 and Andrew Castine added 15 as the Bowl, one of only two unbeaten teams left in the five-division league, ran its record to 12-0. Trim's Lawn Care fell four games off the pace. Kevin Pentalow collected 19 points and 17 rebounds while Jehrod Hall had 16 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks for TLC.

PAPAS Dairy, down 42-30 at the half, rallied for a 68-63 win over P & M that tightened the Black & Blue Division race considerably. P & M now leads PAPAS and Mary's Sunrise Cafe by just one half game.

Aaron Poupore scored 18 points while B.J. Cartier contributed 17 and Kevin St. Mary, 16 points with 11 rebounds and six assists for PAPAS. Al Pritchard nailed seven 3-pointers in the first half and wound up with 23 points for P & M.

Mary's Sunrise Cafe also gained on the leader with a 74-57 win over Nichols Trucking. Greg M. Bresett tallied 19 points with Jason Bushey adding 14 with nine assists for Mary's. Wayne Henderson netted 20 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for Nichols.

Cheryl Blanchard scored 19 points and Terri Marrama collected six assists as Niles Asset Management remained unbeaten at 12-0 in the Women's Division, beating Pretty In Pink 41-23.

Akwesasne Brass Horse, led by Heather Durant with 13 points and 13 rebounds, overcame a big game by Sarah Poirier (26, 10, 7 3-pointers) to beat Mr. Bob's 50-41.

Jean Laurent fired in 37 points and Mike McCray connected for 23 as resurgent Mama's Milkers edged Cantwell & Cantwell 87-83. Andre Poirier scored 35 in a losing effort.

International Border edged HelmHaven Farms 74-71 in overtime with Ricky McCann (29) and Kelsey Moody (18, 17, 9 blocks) leading the way. HelmHaven squandered a 30-point effort by Scott Poirier.

Craig Dumas came up with 32 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists in Hometown Family Chiropractic's 99-82 triumph over Seven & All.
