Fesette's, Maliniak, Gratto's win in hoops
PLATTSBURGH — Shane Parliament scored 20 points, Doug Beebe added 15 and Gary Fesette chipped in with 13 to lead Fesette Realty to a 70-41 victory over Handy Dandy Home Improvement in the City of Plattsburgh Over 30 Basketball League. Jeremy Goff and Dean Morris each netted 12 for Handy Dandy.
Tim LaCount scored 19 points and Brian D'Aust, 16, to spark T. Maliniak Masonry to a 75-62 triumph over Jim Lincoln Construction, Pools and Spas. Mike Piserchia contributed 13 points and Steve McFadden, 11. Tim Barnewall led Lincoln's with 22 while Joe Nixon tallied 19.
Jon Ruff ripped the nets for 23 points to lead Gratto's Juggling Service past Rand Hill Painters 92-68. Jim Manchester chipped in with 18, Wally Rickert added 16 and Steve Gratto, 15. Jim Van Arman and Tyrone Spencer led Rand Hill with 17 each while Aaron Nadea and David Garrand sank 10 points apiece.
Cardinals team with Hockey Coaches Care
PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh State men's hockey has joined with Hockey Coaches Care, a non-profit charitable organization which raises money to help people in need at all levels of the ice hockey community.
For every ticket sold at the Cardinals game against Oswego on Friday, the program will donate $1 to Hockey Coaches Care. In addition, Oswego will do the same on Feb. 20 when the Lakers host the Cardinals at the Campus Center Arena.

NCCC registering for youth indoor soccer
SARANAC LAKE — North Country Community College will offer an indoor youth soccer program with registration scheduled for this weekend and practice and games beginning in January. It will be an eight-week program with three age groups: Rookies (5-6), Championship (7-8) and Premier (9-10).
The cost is $50 per child and $25 for each additional family member. Practices and games will be one hour and each participant will receive a team t-shirt.
Registration will be today, from 5-8 p.m., and Dec. 6, from 9-11 a.m., at Sparks gymnasium. The deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 17. Players will need a dry pair of sneakers, shin guards and a water bottle.

Bowl Mart benefit tourney on Sunday
ROUSES POINT — There will be a benefit bowling tournament on Sunday at the Bowl Mart for Dylon Belair. Belair was injured in a hunting accident and has had multiple surgeries in Burlington.
The tournament will be a nine-pin doubles, with any combination of doubles. Last year's average will be used. If a bowler has no average, men will use 190 and women will use 140. There will be shifts at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Proceeds will help the family with traveling and medical expenses. For more information, call the Bowl Mart, at 297-6106.
Dave Pelkey wins North Bowl Shootout
PLATTSBURGH — Malone's Dave Pelkey won last month's North Bowl Singles Shootout with a 279-214 win over Burlington's Kevin Paskevich in the championship match. There were 65 entries.
The next Shootout is Sunday, with qualifying rounds at noon and 2:15 p.m. Qualifying consists of four games across eight lanes. Handicap is 80 percent the difference in average and 220, with a maximum of 32 pins per game. The top 15 advance to the finals, with one in five cashing.

Local youth bowlers qualify for event
PLATTSBURGH — The following youth bowlers qualified in November at North Bowl Lanes for the National Pepsi USBC Singles Championships. The bowlers will travel to the Section 5 Finals in Potsdam in April, with a chance to move on to state and national competition.

Munson rolls 809 series at North Bowl
PLATTSBURGH — John Munson Jr., bowling for Bill's Mini-Mart in the Thursday Industrial League at North Bowl Lanes, rolled a 299-257-253-809 series. It was Munson's first night of bowling with his new Brunswick Avalanche Slide ball.

Benefit volleyball tourney open to 5-person teams
PLATTSBURGH — A volleyball tournament will be held Sunday, Dec. 14, to benefit the Clinton County Christmas Bureau and Jean Seeber's annual Christmas gift drive for the Plattsburgh school community. The event will be held at Plattsburgh High School, beginning at 10 a.m.
Five-person teams of all ages are encouraged to play with the cost $2 per person. To register, call 563-2507, or sign up at the door.
