George Keller scores 18 points and Walt Worth, 11, in Crown Point's 58-46 win over Westport in the final of the Westport Tip-off Tournament. Tom Gates leads the Eagles with 19.
Don Weatherwax rolls a 769 series to break the scratch triple record at Riverside Lanes, setby Dave Richard with a 748 in 1981.

Dave Bach scores 2 goals and defenseman Mark Farmer, who averages 35 minutes of ice time in two games, is named MVP as Saranac Lake beats Liverpool 7-1 to win its own hockey tournament.
Kris Mullady scores 8 of his 24 points in the 2 overtimes as Dannemora edges Chateaugay 69-65 to win the NAC basketball tourney. MVP Chris Sullivan scores 35 points in 2 games. Randy Blow scores 22 for Chateaugay and Steve Boyea, 18.

John Mosher scores 18 points and grabs 13 rebounds to lead Plattsburgh State to a season-opening upset of Central Connecticut 106-94. Don Vanderwerker chips in with 15 points and Jack Hartpence hits for 10.
Pete Vanderbeek scores 27 points to lead Champlain to a 62-41 opening win over Lyon Mountain. Ray Petrashune and Frank Yasment score 11 apiece for the Miners.
