Winners announced in Wallett tourney
ROUSES POINT — The team of Cody Roberts, Cody O’Brian, Steve Young and Lyle Young combined for a net score of 53 to take first place in the men’s/mixed division of the 12th-Annual Clinton County Carol Wallett Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 21, at the North Country Golf Club. The event benefits Hospice of the North Country.
Second place, in a tie-breaker, went to the team of Richard Beauregard, Jim Beauregard, Gary Ramsey and Beth Ramsey with a 54, third to Mike Phillips, Kathy Barcomb, Clay Morris and Gail Morris with a 54 and fourth to Bob Barnes, Jamie McKinnon, Lee O’Neil and Dan Letourneau with a 55.
Low net in the women’s division, with a 58, went to the team of Jackie Walker, Mary Weaver, Elizabeth Michalek and Diana Lavery, and second place, with a 59, to Joy Laporte, Kathy Ashline, Anne Bouyea and Mary Jo Jubert.
Longest drive went to John Wood for the men and Mary Beth Ramsey for the women. Closest to the pin awards were won by Josh McMillan for the men and Alice Mossey for the women. The winner of the longest putt contest was Brian Hughes.
Winners announced in Adirondack tourney
PERU — The 2007 Bring-A-Buddy Tournament was held Sunday at Adirondack Golf and Country Club. Forty two-person teams, each comprised of a member and guest, competed in the event.
Winning the men’s division was the team of Todd Ryan and Craig K, followed by Jay LePage and Al Sweet in second place and Bill Giroux and Travis Giroux in third place.
In the women’s division, Katie Gluck and Jean Sagan finished first, followed by Sharon Simpson and Kathleen Everleth in second place and Barb Meconi and Butch Snell in third.
X-Plo/Ez-Sto team wins tourney
PLATTSBURGH — The X-Plo/Ez-Sto team of Rhonda Barber, Mark St. Denis, Larry Wilson and Calvin Hamel recorded a gross score of 64 and a winning low net of 60 to finish first in the eighth-annual Melissa Lahtinen Penfield Golf Tournament.
Cumberland Motor Sales finished second and Dame’s Discount Liquor. Low gross, with a 61, went to the team of Russell, Griffin, Snell and Snell.
The event raised over $10,000 to help organ donation patients in our region. Next year’s tournament will be held on July 9.
Kirkpatrick shoots
80, Caligiore 86
CLIFTON PARK — Plattsburgh’s Ryan Kirkpatrick shot an eight-over-par 80 Wednesday at Eagle Crest Golf Club to finish in a tie for 22nd place in the fifth Northeastern New York PGA Section Junior Tour golf event.
Kirkpatrick’s effort marked his best score of the season with two events remaining. With temperatures pushing 90 degrees, Kirkpatrick shot 39-41 over the 6,390 yard, par 72 course.
Saratoga Springs’ Joe Lanci fired a one-under par 71 and took a three-stroke victory.
In a close girls’ battle, Lake Placid’s Aimee Caligiore placed fourth with nines of 43-43 for a total of 86 on the 5,649 yard layout.
Latham’s Bailey Cocca won for the first time this season, shooting an 11-over 83. Hudson’s Stephanie Bednar was second at 84. Niskayuna’s Sarah Romer grabbed third with an 85.
The junior tour moves to Ballston Spa for the next event on August 2.
At season’s end, the top 25 boys and five girls will advance to the tour championship at Saratoga National.
Bluff Point junior tourney held
PLATTSBURGH — Bluff Point Golf & Resort recently held its junior golf championships. Twenty-five golfers took part in the six-week program.
Champions were crowned in three age groups. They included Alex Pierce and Pierre-Oliver Cote in the 14-and-over, Augustine Rietsema and Barrett Whaling in the 12-13 and Artie Pringle and Yasmene Dergham in the 11-and-under.
The winner of the Gil Burnell Award for sportsmanship, loyalty and dedication was Ryan Kirkpatrick.
Firefighters tourney
at Bluff Point
PLATTSBURGH — The fifth-annual Plattsburgh Firefighters benefit golf tournament will be held Saturday at Bluff Point Golf & Resort. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and participants are asked to show up by 7:15 a.m. to sign in.
There will be a reception at Bluff Point immediately following the golf round.

Openings remain in M’ville K of C tourney
PERU — There are still openings for teams and sponsors for the 11th-Annual Morrisonville Knights of Columbus Golf Classic to be held Thursday, August 16, at Adirondack Golf & Country Club.

Bluff Point to host senior championship
PLATTSBURGH — The Bluff Point Golf Resort Senior Open Championship will be held on Thursday, August 23, at 8:30 a.m. Awards will be presented to winners and runner-ups in five age classes: 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74 and 75-and-over.
Entry fee is $40 for non-members and $15 for Bluff Point members. Lunch is included.

Saranac Booster Club tourney Sept. 30
PERU — The Saranac Boosters are sponsoring their first annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament on Sunday, September 30, at the Adirondack Golf and Country Club. The tournament format will be a four-person scramble with no handicap.
There will be a noon shotgun start. Entry fee is $30 for members and $50 for non-members. Entry fee includes green fee, cart, and a barbeque following the event. Prizes to be awarded. An optional skins game and a raffle are also planned. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 15.
