CLIFTON PARK — The Plattsburgh Babe Ruth League All-Stars got off to a slow start again Saturday and dropped an 8-0 decision to Kingston in the New York State Babe Ruth Championship Tournament.
The local all-stars fell to 0-2 in the round-robin event and play North Colonie today at 4 p.m.
Kingston scored two runs in the first and three in the second to take a 5-0 lead.
Three Kingston pitchers — Maloney, Bickert and Torres — combined on a three-hitter — as Plattsburgh was never able to recover from the slow start.
Jared Murphy and Matt Leta hit doubles for Plattsburgh, while David Latulipe added a single.
Alex Lafountain, Murphy, Ryan Bishop and Kyle Rascoe all pitched, with Lafountain getting the loss.
Friday, Plattsburgh fell behind early before dropping a 9-6 setback to Bethlehem.
