Beekmantown led the 2009 CVAC Boys Tennis All-Star team with two First-Team selections — Adam Shearer and Tim Walsh — and a Coach of the Year nod for Dan Rillahan. On the girls' side, Saranac led the way with three First-Team picks: Alisala Thatsanasuwan and the doubles teams of Missy Doherty and Jessy Todd and Christine Allen and Kalee Smith.
Boys
First Team
Singles
Adam Shearer- The Beekmantown junior finished the CVAC season unbeaten, without dropping a set, and was the Section VII tournament individual champion. He went 15-1 over the past two regular seasons.
Hayden Frechette- A senior in his fifth year on the Plattsburgh High varsity team, Frechette went 7-1 in the regular season. He placed third in the sectional tournament, qualifying for the state tournament.
Tim Walsh- The Beekmantown senior finished 8-0 at No. 3 singles while dropping just one set, boosting his record over the last two years to 15-1. He played doubles at sectionals and made the state tournament.
Doubles
Alex Schin/Mike Mitsoglou- This PHS duo finished the regular season with a perfect 5-0 record at No. 1 doubles. They placed third at sectionals to earn a trip to the state tournament.
Devan Poissant/Bobby Marks- First-year starters for Northeastern Clinton, they went 4-1. Both also had wins in singles and while playing with other partners in doubles.
Second Team
Singles
Marco Kniefel- The PHS sophomore turned in a 5-0 record during the regular season and then placed fourth in the sectional tournament.
Evan Knox- As a second-year player for Lake Placid, he dropped just one match at No. 2 singles and earned the fifth seed in sectional tournament. He'll be the team captain next season.
Fred Ritter- A PHS senior, he was 6-0 playing at the No. 3 or No. 2 spot and received the sixth seed at sectionals.
Doubles
Dylan Castine/Joey Engelbrecht- The NCCS pair went 3-1 at No. 1 doubles. Engelbrecht, one of the team's most improved players, had an overall doubles record of 5-2, while Castine also won two singles matches.
Jesse LaSelva/Nick Stosiek- LaSelva, a first-year player for Lake Placid, displayed a quick net game and steady ground strokes. Stosiek, another new player, used natural ability and determination to develop a strong all-around game.

Singles
Mary McAuliffe- The Seton Catholic junior, who's making her second appearance on the First Team, dropped just two sets all season at the No. 1 spot and won the Section VII tournament. She has lost one match in the last two years.
Annette Liem- A PHS senior, she finished the regular season unbeaten at No. 2 for the second straight year. This is also her second straight First-Team appearance.
Alisala Thatsanasuwan- The junior finished the regular season 5-0 for Saranac.
Doubles
Missy Doherty/Jessy Todd- These seniors are both three-year varsity players for Saranac. They started the season 5-0 before having to forfeit a match due to injury.
Christine Allen/Kalee Smith- This Saranac pair completed the season at 4-0 and were sometimes split up so Allen could fill in at No. 3 singles.
Second Team
Singles
Alexis Wrye- A Northeastern Clinton senior, Wrye posted a 4-1 record at No. 1 singles and a 3-0 record at No. 1 doubles and then took third in the Section VII tournament.
Rachel Leitsch- The senior went 5-1 at No. 2 for Saranac, with her only loss coming against First-Teamer Annette Liem.
Meaghan Langr- The Northeastern Clinton senior finished the year 8-1 in singles and also teamed with younger sister Kristen to win the sectional doubles title.
Doubles
Renee Egan/Rachel Daly- The lone senior on the Seton Catholic team, Eagan completed her fourth year of tennis and made the All-Star team for the first time. Daly, a junior, is a three-year player who showed much improvement this season.
Mary Brigid Cannon/Eliza Zalis- This pair of Seton Catholic juniors completed their year of varsity tennis and earned their first All-Star recognition.
