Seton claims 6 medals at Albany

ALBANY — Five Seton Catholic athletes earned medals in indoor track & field Saturday in the Great Dane Classic at the University at Albany.

Genna Hartung claimed two medals. She finished sixth in the girls' 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:53.56 and teamed with Alexa Cosgro, Anna Rabideau and Andrea Maynard to place sixth in the 4x800-meter relay in 10:23.11.

Michael Champagne came in fourth in the boys' 1,600-meter run with a personal-record time of 4:31.96.

There were several other outstanding performances by Seton Catholic athletes. Cosgro had a personal-best of 3:22.55 for the 1,000 meters and she ran a 10.9 for the 55-meter hurdles. Rabideau turned in a personal-best of 5:17.48 for the 1,500 meters and Maynard had a time of 1:50.40 for the 600 meters.

The boys' 4x800-meter relay team of Champagne, Seth Bombard, Barrett Waling and Zach Ziemer ran an 8:47.02 while Ziemer clocked a 2:50.53 for the 1,000 meters.

Waling, only a freshman, was fourth in his heat, and 13th, overall, out of 37 runners in the 1,600 meters with a personal-record of 4:46.97. Class D rival, and fellow freshman, Austin Lane of Greenwich won Barrett's heat and placed eighth, overall, with a time of 4:43.29.
