CLINTONVILLE — The AuSable Valley Patriots swept past the Northern Adirondack Bobcats 3-0 Tuesday in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball.
The Patriots (8-8) finished the season at .500 — after a string of losing campaigns — and they're hoping to make it a winning year with success in the sectionals, which begin later this week. AuSable Valley, the fifth seed in Class B, will travel to Northeastern Clinton, the No. 4 seed, Friday in a quarterfinal round matchup.
AuSable Valley, rebounding from Monday's setback at Plattsburgh High, looked ready for the postseason with its 25-13, 25-17, 25-10 sweep of Northern Adirondack (5-11).
Alexandra Hoey had a great serving night with 26 points, including 12 aces, and also played outstanding defense with six kills and 12 digs. Shiloh Bourgeois (7 kills, 1 block) and Emily Miller (12 kills, 4 blocks) were tough at the net for the Patriots while Maureen Myers, the lone senior, turned in a solid performance on Senior Night. Amanda Hamilton also had 17 assists.
Sarah Brunell had four points and four kills for NAC.
