Saranac Lake wins in volleyball

LAKE PLACID — Heleni Kuma came through with another stellar all-round effort Wednesday night to lead Saranac Lake to a 3-1 victory over Lake Placid in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference volleyball.

Kuma recorded 19 kills with four blocks and also had 14 points with five aces and 19 digs to spark Saranac Lake (4-10) to a 25-17, 25-23, 18-25, 25-10 triumph.

Harley Wilson chipped in with 14 points, four aces, three kills and 19 digs while Courtney Sullivan contributed 18 points with two aces. Erin Miner had four kills and eight assists.

McKenzie Riley served 11 points with an ace and had five kills and one block for Lake Placid (1-14). Lauren Scarpelli served eight points with two aces and Bethany Valenze had eight assists and three kills.
