PLATTSBURGH — Saranac scored another sweep while the Ticonderoga boys and Seton Catholic girls finished first in their session of Champlain Valley Athletic Conference indoor track & field Saturday at the Plattsburgh State Field House.
In the morning program, the Ticonderoga boys dominated in the field events to outpoint runner-up Beekmantown, 76-64.
Dustin Scott won the high jump (6 feet, 1 inch) and the triple jump (39-5¼) while teammates Jonathan Granger and Tyler Bush won the long jump (19-9¼) and shot put (40-¼), respectively. The Sentinels also claimed second in all four field events and third in two.
The Seton Catholic girls excelled in the distances — sweeping the four events — and also add a first in the hurdles, distance relay and shot put. Andrea Maynard won the 1,000 and 1,500 for Seton with Anna Rabideau capturing the 600 and Mary Glynn, the 3,000. Alexa Cosgro won the hurdles. All four girls were members of the 3,200 relay team that placed first. Demi Pellerin took the shot put for the Knights.
Lexi Reale and Ainsley MacAlpine were double winners for Ticonderoga.
The Saranac Chiefs had little trouble sweeping the afternoon session with the boys nearly doubling the score of second-place PHS and the girls almost tripling the Hornets' runner-up total.
Nate Williams won the 55- and 300-meter dashes and also anchored the winning relay 640-meter relay team to victory to lead the Saranac boys. The Chiefs won two of the three relays and picked up firsts in the 1,000 (Jason Pageau), 3,200 (Josh Wade), high jump (Jon Brown) and triple jump (Matt Terry).
The Saranac girls also swept the distances races with Mandy Erickson (600), Leanne Raudenbush (1,000), Charlotte Hackett (1,500) and Morgan Kelly (3,000). The Chiefs added firsts in the 3,200-meter relay, 55-meter hurdles (Robbi Bailey), high jump (Katie McIntosh) and shot put (Rachel Plumley).
Black won the long jump for Peru and added two firsts in relays.
