City Babe Ruth schedules elections

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Babe Ruth Baseball League will hold its annual elections at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Ground Round Restaurant.

All positions are for one year. Individuals interested in coaching or being a board member must attend.

Crab Island golf winners listed

PLATTSBURGH — The 8th-Annual Crab Island Memorial Golf Tournament was held at The Barracks Golf Club on July 21. There was a full field of 36 4-person teams competing.

Two teams each finished with a 61 and a match of cards gave first place to Randy Rock, Kyle Rock, Harlon Rock and Tim Barber, and second place to Keith Reyell, Joe Rabideau, Brandon Smith and Jeff Delameter.

Four teams shot 62 and third place went to Sean Pugh, Mike Bessette, Marty Collins and Steve Brault, fourth to Jim Dowdle, Jim Golden, Dennis Bardelick and Matt Davis, fifth to Vern Malark, Duane Malark, Rob Vogg and Craig Fabian, and sixth to John Kitchen, Stan Loya Sr., Stan Loya Jr. and Tim Ahern.

Closest to the crooked line went to Kevin Rotz for the men and Heidi Lessor for the women, and closest to the pin Sean Pugh for the men and Elaine Smith for the women. There were three skins awarded: Fuzz Bruno, Paul Bruno, Kevin Bruno and Kregg Bruno on the seventh hole, Randy Rock, Kyle Rock, Harlon Rock and Tim Barber on the eighth hole, and Rodney Provost, Tom Douglas, Jeff Warren and Bill Hill on the 10th hole.

 

Ameri-Can North to hold stick-n-puck, skating

PLATTSBURGH — The Ameri-Can North Sports Center will be holding stick-n-puck from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Sunday. Public skating will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.

 

City offering wooden bat baseball league

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department is now taking team registrations for the fourth year of the Over 30 Men’s Wooden Baseball Bat League. This league will play at Lefty Wilson Field at Penfield Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The league will run from Aug. 16 to Sept. 30, including playoffs. The team fee is $350.

Any individuals looking to join will be added to a waiting list and placed on a team if there is room available. Games will consist of six innings with a different pitcher each inning. There is no maximum for a batting line-up. A rostered team may have two players under 30 years of age, but they are not eligible to pitch. Wooden bats must be provided by teams.
