PLATTSBURGH — The Champlain Valley Athletic Conference has announced its boys' and girls' tennis All-Stars for the 2011 season.
Boys First team Singles
1. Mark Price, Beekmantown- After having a super year in 2010 with just one loss and finishing fourth in the qualifying tournament, Price topped himself this year by going unbeaten at No. 1 singles and was the 2011 qualifying tournament champion.
Price represented Section VII well by playing a close match in the consolation round and being named the section's "best sportsman."
2. Richie Collins Northeastern Clinton- Collins, a senior playing in only his second season of varsity tennis, showed steady improvement throughout the course of the season, winning his final six matches in a highly competitive singles field.
3. Dylan Christopherson, Saranac- Christopherson had a great first year anchoring a very good Saranac team. He finished the season unbeaten.
Doubles
1. Shea Crockett /Danny O'Halloran, Plattsburgh High- Crockett and O'Halloran placed third this year in the state qualifying tournament. They finished the season unbeaten, and they were important leaders for the sectional-champion Hornets.
2. Chirag Patel and Chris Gray, Plattsburgh High- Patel and Gray worked hard to improve their tennis game and their efforts were reflected in their ability to compete and win matches.
Second team Singles
1. Adam Emery, Plattsburgh High- Emery is a three-year player on the PHS team. He is a hard worker dedicated to improving his game, and he was a leader to his teammates on and off the court.
2. Corey Bissonette, Saranac/Eric Mitchell, Beekmantown- Bissonette had a great year, only losing once. He and his brother Shawn took third last year in the doubles tournament and first this season, which qualified them to go to states.
Mitchell had another great year for the Eagles. He finished last year 10-0 and this season was 8-1 and runner-up in the singles tournament. Mitchell has one of the most challenging styles in the league, and not many players work harder on the court.
3. Adam Blaine, Peru- Blaine is a senior who has been on the tennis team for the last four years. Blaine has always been willing to play wherever needed — singles or doubles.
Doubles
1. Bobby Marks/McKenna Hunter, Northeastern Clinton- Marks, a senior and half of the 2010 CVAC doubles championship team, along with McKenna Hunter, finished with an 5-1 record. Marks went 1-0 when playing with another teammate while Hunter finished 1-0 at No. 3 singles.
2. Peter Daly/Tony Geno, Peru- Daly and Geno worked hard this season and scored many important points for their team. A lot of Peru's success this season can be attributed to their dedication to tennis and the team.

David Miller, Northern Adirondack; Ryan Marks, Northeastern Clinton; Shawn Bissonette, Saranac; Jang Bin Park, Seton Catholic; Kash Durham, Peru; Spencer Keable/Willis Reid-Breyette, Beekmantown; Miguel Nesbitt, Plattsburgh High; Dolan Riley, Lake Placid.
Girls First team Singles
1. Stephanie Omlin, Peru- Omlin was a 2010 Second-Team All-Star and tournament runner up. She had a perfect regular-season record of 8-0. She also finished this season by winning the girls singles' tournament after finishing second for the past two years.
2. Bailey Waterbury, Beekmantown- Waterbury was undefeated this year. She played in No. 1 doubles once and No. 2 singles for a 6-0 season. Her level of play has jumped up a notch, and her work ethic and confidence has broken through to the next level.
3. Georgia O'Leary, Lake Placid- O'Leary, an eighth grader, completed her second year with the program. She played No. 1 doubles in 2010. This year she played No. 3 singles and compiled a record of 6-0.
Doubles
1. Alexandra Provost/Kristen Koktowski, Beekmantown- Provost and Koktowski played well together at No. 1 doubles (5-0, 6-0 records, respectively). Their doubles play together on the court will be missed by the Eagles next season.
2. Lacie Hogle/ Allie Cartier, Northeastern Clinton- The No. 2 doubles team of Hogle and Cartier established themselves as the most consistent part of the Cougars' CVAC championship team, with Hogle finishing with an undefeated regular-season record at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Cartier finished unbeaten at No. 2 doubles when playing with Hogle and other teammates.
Second Team Singles
1. Emily Carlin, Beekmantown- Carlin went 5-2 this year. She has been a consistent, even-tempered and reliable player for the Eagles. Coming off an undefeated season last year, Carlin performed well for Beekmantown and the Eagles will miss her next season.
2. Natalia Smith, Lake Placid- Smith is in 11th grade and played No. 2 singles for the Blue Bombers this year. She compiled a 7-0 record. As a 10th grader last year, she played No. 3 singles.
3. Olivia Wyand, Beekmantown- Wyand, a ninth grader, stepped up for Beekmantown as a first-year tennis player. Wyand proved to be an athletic player who could cover the court well. The Eagles are expecting big things from Wyand in the future.
Doubles
1.Stephanie Demarais/Samantha Banker, Peru and Kristen Langr/Erica Sorrell, Northeastern Clinton- This was the first year for Demarais and Banker playing together. They were very successful, leading Peru to a great season and contributing to many of its wins. They finished the season at 6-2.
Langr finished her impressive senior year with an undefeated regular season at No. 3 singles and no. 1 doubles, along with her third consecutive CVAC doubles title.
Sorrell, a junior, proved to be as solid as her teammate, finishing with a 7-1 record when paired with Langr and other partners.
2. Katie Lawliss/ Margaret Mitchell, Peru- The duo finished the year at 6-1 and had a great season at No. 2 doubles. Peru expects great things from these girls next season.
