PERU — The Colchester Senior Babe Ruth team erased an early 2-0 deficit with four runs in the second inning and two more in the third on the way to an 8-4 victory over Adams Glass on Thursday.
Cory Benoit led the Vermonters with three hits, including a double, while Nick Corrigan added two. Colchester rapped out 10 hits in all.
Tristan Archambault, Joshua Robinson and Conor Casey had the hits for Adams Glass, which tallied two runs in the first and didn’t score again until the seventh when it got two more.
By that time, Colchester had built up an 8-2 advantage.
Adams Glass used seven pitchers in the contest in preparation for this weekend’s Akadema Wooden Bat Challenge Tournament in Brossard, Que. Adams Glass plays the Ottawa Knights today at 1 p.m. and then the Verdun Royals at 3:30 p.m.

SARANAC — Jeff Norton rapped out three hits, including a double and two RBI, to help lead the Airborne Speedway Padres to a 14-5 victory over the Plattsburgh Senior Babe Ruth team.
The Padres, who compete in the Champlain Valley Baseball League, scored five runs in the third inning and broke the game open with seven in the fifth.
Nick Desroches, Josh Chapman and Shane Perrotte added two hits each in a 14-hit attack, with Chapman getting a double and three RBI and Desroches a double and two RBI.
Airborne Speedway had nine of their players get at least one hit in the contest.
Jacob Kennedy led Plattsburgh, which was playing its first game of the season, with two singles and two RBI. Rob Hartman followed with two hits and an RBI, while Garrett Manchester added two singles and Brady Burleigh an RBI single.
Kyle Erickson and Kristian Sherman chipped in with a hit each for Plattsburgh, which finished with eight hits.
The Padres take on the Fourth Ward Timberjaxx at 11 a.m. on Saturday in CVBL play, while Plattsburgh Senior Babe Ruth is at Ogdensburg for a doubleheader.
