BYC holding football camp

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Youth Commission is sponsoring a youth football camp starting July 16 to 20.

The camp will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Those who are interested can sign up at the town hall or on Monday before camp begins. This is a non-contact camp that will teach the fundamentals of offensive and defensive football. Players will need cleats or sneakers, a mouthguard and their own water bottle.

McCann leads Lashway’s over NCCS

PLATTSBURGH — Ricky McCann tossed in a game-high 37 points to lead Lashway’s Meat Market to a 101-98 victory over NCCS in the City of Plattsburgh Open Men’s Basketball League at the City Recreation Center.

Devon Anderson chipped in with 13 points for Lashway’s Meat Market. Tre’ Bucci tossed in 28 points to lead NCCS, while Matt Farbotko tallied 21 points.

Shavar Fields scored 23 points to help CSEA Local 884 over Chateaugay, 78-74. Travis Gorham added 17 points for the winners.

Jerrad Dumont knocked in 37 points for Chateaugay, with Steve Carder delivering 13 points.

Chris Strack scored 20 points and Dave Navarro, 19, as Team Elite defeated Rand Hill Painters, 82-68.

Alex Medina led Rand Hill Painters with 28 points. Jim Van Arman finished with 18 points.

T. Maliniak Masonry captured an 89-63 win over 4th Ward 36ers behind 23 points from Chris Castine. Mike Medberry chipped in with 16 points.

Joe Akey paced 4th Ward 36ers with 20 points, while Ryan Earle tossed in 17 points.
