Jody Barber of Cumberland Head wins 3 classes in snowmobile races at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.
Roger Dutton scores 23 points and Mark Benoit adds 17 as MAI atones for a 30-point loss to St. John's earlier in the season with a 60-50 win over the Irish. Johnny Hart leads St. John's with 14.
Maurice Broderick, who ran Airborne Speedway from 1956-68, takes control again for the 1970 season when Canadians Ronald Bracken and Rodney Anderson default on their payment.
Mike Davidson scores 21 points as Peru defeats Winooski 66-53 to avenge an earlier setback.
50 YEARS AGO (1960)
Skyline Ski Center in Redford begins night skiing. It is one of three Clinton County ski centers; Beartown and Polar Valley between Redford and Saranac are the others.
Heavyweight Paul Savage scores a technical knockout over Moose Gregory in the featured bout at the Vermont Golden Gloves tournament. Buddy DeCarlo of the Plattsburgh Boys Club wins at 160 pounds.
Joe Velsini scores 16 points to lead Port Henry past AuSable Forks 47-44.
Bob Dragoon fires in 47 points as the Mooers Merchants drub Plattsburgh 88-45.
Fred Rescigno gets 32 points and 25 rebounds in leading MAI over St. John's 70-45.

Urgil Votraw scores 19 points, Jim Sears adds 18 and Dick Squires, 10, as St. John's hands Lyon Mountain its first loss, 52-43.
Former PHS standout Bobby Parker is named captain of the basketball team at Mount Hermon Prep.
Jack Pepper scores 18 and Howard, 12, as Moriah beats Diamond Match 55-46 on the new OLVA court.
Earl Wells scores 18 points to lead the PHS alumni to a 58-49 win over the St. John's graduates. Jim Holcombe scores 16 and Jim Brannigan, 15, for the Irish alums.
70 YEARS AGO (1940)
Ray Gallant's shot from halfcourt gives St. John's a 26-24 win over St. Mary's of Ogdensburg.
Francis Steltzer scores 19 points to lead PHS over MAI 35-25.
The Republic Steel team from Lyon Mountain with Bill Linney, John Kerr, Bill Stacavitch and Angus Clain wins the 4-man AAU bobsled trophy. Francis Tyler's team comes in second, followed by Nelson Diefendorf's sled.
More than 100 skiers use the Plattsburgh Ski Club's Rand Hill Slope. Lloyd Wilcox offers a talk on ski equipment.
