PERU — The Peru Indians captured a 3-0 victory over Saranac in the Section VII Class B semifinals Tuesday.
That win lands the Indians (14-3) in Saturday's championship game against Beekmantown, which is being played at Clinton Community College at 5 p.m.
This will be Peru's first trip to the Class B title game since 2002 when the Indians defeated Plattsburgh, 3-0.
Abby Higgins led the charge for the Indians with 25 points, eight aces, 10 kills and 14 digs.
Peru captured wins of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-18.
Paige Moore added seven points, six aces, seven kills and nine digs while Callie Garcia finished with six kills and 12 digs.
"Paige Moore and Callie Garcia really stepped up for us offensively," Indian coach Kaylen Fessette said. "Abby was a really strong server and Breanna Martineau was excellent on defense."
Danielle Parker played a superb contest for Saranac (10-7) with 10 points and 11 digs.
Stephanie Linder added nine kills and eight digs.

MASSENA — Massena edged Chateaugay, 3-2, in the Section X Overall Tournament semifinals.
The scores were 25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 19-25 and 18-25.
Paige English had 27 points, three aces, 16 assists and a block for the Bulldogs (15-4).
Caroline Stumpf added 20 points and eight kills, Katilyn Miller had 14 points, 16 assists, four kills and two blocks, Megan Barnes had 16 kills, Shelby Yanulavich, 18 points, and Katelyn Legacy had 13 points and eight kills.
Chateaugay will play the Section II representative in the opening round of state play next week.
