Matt St. Clair grabs touchdown passes of 55 and 77 yards in the first quarter and the Peru defense forces four turnovers in a 14-7 victory over Chenango Forks for the state Class B football championship. St. Clair sets a state playoff record with 181 yards receiving and also intercepts 2 passes.
Todd Bishop scores 21 points as Beekmantown overcomes Mike Barcomb's 33-point game to defeat Chazy 66-58 in boys' basketball.
Ashley Lane comes off the bench to drop in 16 points and lead Malone to a 54-43 triumph over Saranac in girls' basketball. Danielle Gushlaw leads the Chiefs with 10.
Derrick Pierce and Brandon Jaquish each score 19 points as Willsboro opens its new gymnasium with a 52-45 win over Minerva-Newcomb.
Jenna Proctor scores 24 points in her Plattsburgh High debut, helping the Hornets turn back Westport 54-51. Aimee Marsh nets 27 for the Eagles.
Adam Favro scores 20 points and grabs 12 rebounds while Joel Butchino tallies 11 as Plattsburgh High tops Albany Academy 60-45 in the final of the Queensbury tournament.

Seton Catholic's Patty McCormick places 13th in the Kinney Cross-Country Northeast Regional in New York City.
Meghan Welch and Michelle Chevalier, both age 12, combine for 5 medals for the Bay Club Waves in district swimming competition.
Sue Paiser, Katie Zeglis and Jane Nicknish all are named to the all-tournament team for leading Seton Catholic to a 47-35 win over host St. Albans-Bellows Free Academy in the Comet Classic girls' basketball final.
Glen Bronson scores 22 points to lead Westport to a 79-56 win over Willsboro in the Westport Tip-off Final. Andy Desso scores 13 for Willsboro.
25 YEARS AGO (1986)
Chris Monette sinks 2 free throws with one second left to lift St. John's to a 48-46 win over Guilderland in the Queensbury tournament. Steve McFadden chips in with 13 points. The Irish fall to Queensbury 84-51 in the final.
Rick Harpp, Ron Giambruno, Mike Klingler and Chris Cote win the Plattsburgh YMCA 3-on-3 basketball championship.
Dave Daniels wins the 9th-Annual Peru Turkey Trot with a time of 33 minutes, 15 seconds while Gayle Giambruno posts the best time for the women with a 40:26.
30 YEARS AGO (1981)
Six-foot-eight transfer Peter Cole tallies 20 points and the University of Vermont turns back Plattsburgh State 65-53. Bill Stevens leads the Cardinals with 15 points.
MAI alum Kevin Trombley, a fullback at Walsh College, is named to the First Team All-Mid Ohio Conference in men's soccer. He also earns First Team All-District.
Julie Willette serves 15 points to lead Northeastern Clinton to a 3-0 victory over Peru in volleyball. Eileen Roach serves 9 points and adds 3 kills for Peru.
Dan Koechel scores 18 points and Bob Wolf grabs 24 rebounds to lead Elizabethtown-Lewis to a 61-53 triumph over Minerva.
Brian VanSise hits a corner jumper with one second left to give Keene a 63-61 win over Tupper Lake. Darrin McDonough leads the Beavers with 21 points while Strander paces Tupper Lake with 19.

Bill Laundrie, George Rivers, Tom Burnett and Phil Bowman register pins in leading Plattsburgh High to a 29-21 win over Peru in wrestling.

Former Plattsburgh resident Neil Murray, 17, earns the Thom McAnn Football Award after leading Albany Academy to its best season in 10 years.
