ADK nature walks open to public
SARANAC — The public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club for the popular Wednesday nature walks at the New Land Trust (NLT) in Saranac. You will be able to explore the natural diversity of the flora and fauna and see beaver pond activity.

Cannonball Run registration open
PLATTSBURGH — Registration forms for the Eighth-Annual Cannonball Run are now available from Cannonball Run, 94 Bradford Road, Plattsburgh, NY.
Entry fee for the 5K and 10K runs is $25, and the 1-mile run/walk is $15. Entry fee for children is $15, and a family of four or more is $35.
The race will be a charity fundraiser, and all proceeds after expenses will benefit the Veterans Assistance Fund of Clinton County.
Finisher medals will go to all participants, and t-shirts will be available for runners registered before Sept. 1.
The race starts at 9 a.m. on Sept. 8 at the Plattsburgh Gym Complex on Old Base Oval. Registration will start at 8:15 a.m. Preregistration packets can be picked up Sept. 7 at Trinity Park from 4 to 7 p.m.
