Don’t state as a fact something that is unsubstantiated or that our editors wouldn't know to be true.

Don’t presume someone’s guilt in a case when it hasn't been established by a court.

Don’t assail or impugn an identifiable individual or group. If you have that kind of criticism, sign your name and submit it as a Letter to the Editor. (There is some leeway on this in connection with public officials, but it is not unconditional.)

Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

We monitor comments Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Approval of comments outside these times may be delayed.

Family Outdoor Adventure cancelled

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau and Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department have cancelled their Family Winter Outdoor Adventure Program scheduled for Feb. 22-24. Call the Clinton County Youth Bureau at 565-4750 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily Monday through Friday with any questions.

PSU men's hockey ticket prices, procedure

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State athletic department announces men's hockey ticket procedures for Saturday's SUNY Athletic Conference semifinal game at 7 p.m.

Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase their seats for the game from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, at the Field House Box Office. Season ticket holders must present photo identification at the time of purchase. Tickets are $6 per person and fans will only be able to purchase their seats. Additional tickets cannot be purchased at that time.

All remaining tickets, including season tickets that are not claimed on Friday, will go on sale to the general public at the Field House Box Office at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. General admission tickets are $6 per person.

Times for Friday E'town-Lewis games

ELIZABETHTOWN — Times for Section VII playoff quarterfinal basketball games at Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School on Friday, Feb. 24, have been announced.The boys' team will play Minerva/Newcomb at 6 p.m., followed by the girls' game against Schroon Lake at 7:30 p.m.
