CHAZY — The Chazy girls' hockey team will play Saranac Lake this coming Friday night in the opening round of the Upstate New York Girls' Hockey Tournament playoffs.

The Eagles earned the top seed in the eight-team event with a win over Skaneateles to close out the regular season and Saranac Lake is the eighth seed. The game will be held at 6 p.m. at Scott's Rink.

"If we win Friday, we head to Skaneateles for the Final Four," said Chazy coach Ray Guay. "It's almost like our sectionals, except that it's the state playoffs.

"There's eight of 13 teams that make the playoffs and you keep advancing if you win. You have three games left in the season, and if you lose, you're done."
