Plattsburgh loses two
FAIR HAVEN, Vt. — It was a rough day for the Plattsburgh Senior Babe Ruth team, which dropped two games to the Granville Legion.
Plattsburgh held a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning of the opener behind the pitching of Jonas Miller, who struck out eight in four innings.
But Miller tired in the fifth and Granville erupted for 15 runs, many coming after two were out, as Plattsburgh ended up using five pitchers in the inning.
Brady Burleigh led Plattsburgh with two hits and a RBI, while Andrew Tedford added a single.
In the second game, Granville erased a 2-1 deficit with six runs in the second inning and never looked back.
Jordan Gillespie, Tedford, Burleigh, Miller and Kristian Sherman had a hit each for Plattsburgh (0-7), with Burleigh driving in a run. Jacob Kennedy started and took the pitching loss.
Plattsburgh and Adams Glass will play a doubleheader on Wednesday at Lefty Wilson Field, with the first game starting at 5:30 p.m.
