ADK chapter to hold events

PLATTSBURGH — On Wednesday, Feb. 15, the public is invited to join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK for a cross-country skiing outing in the Clinton State Forest. This is considered moderate in difficulty at a slow and easy pace.

No beginners please. Bring lunch and warm drink. The leader is Nancy Olsen and those interested can call her at 561-0189 before February 13.

Also on Feb. 15, there will be a Walk About Town. Meet at 3 p.m. on the steps of City Hall for a walk around a Plattsburgh neighborhood. Lynn Valenti is the leader.

On Friday, February 17 join the Algonquin Chapter of the ADK for a ski or snowshoe outing in the Provincial Parc Mount St. Bruno, Quebec. There are trails for all levels. There is an entrance fee with discounts for 65 plus.

Missing Children's tourney has openings

AUSABLE FORKS — The 23rd-Annual Missing Children's Basketball Tournament will be held March 8 through 11.

The double-elimination tournament is open to any boys or girls in fifth or sixth grades. There are still openings for boys' teams. The entrance fee is $150.

Youth Bureau to host winter program

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau and Town of Plattsburgh Recreation Department will host a Family Winter Outdoor Adventure Program Feb. 22 through 24 at the Cadyville Recreation Park for children seven years of age or older and their families.

The program will introduce participants to snowshoeing, team work and outdoor leadership skills. There will also be snowshoe Disk golf, among other outdoor games.

The program will run from 1 until 3 p.m. each day, and participants must pre-register to be eligible to participate. There is no cost to register. Registration will take place during each of the three days.

Participants should dress for the weather.
