Speakout: Sept. 8, 2010

Potential

We hear constantly from the chamber about the importance of Canada to our economy and how we must work together. We have not heard of any efforts the chamber has made to connect with our Vermont neighbors. Aren't there potential customers and business clients there?

Nastiness

From time to time the Press-Republican prints rules for submissions to Speakout and Letters to the Editor. Why do these same rules not apply to the editorial cartoons the P-R publishes? Vile nastiness directed toward specific individuals should not be allowed as free speech in the editorial cartoons (as published on Aug 20).

Site

Why not a nice big synagogue at or near Ground Zero? With all the persecution they have experienced in their history, I believe a temple at that site would be appropriate.
