Blaming Bush

TO THE EDITOR: For all you liberals out there, here are a few thoughts.

President Obama had control of both houses of Congress for the first two years of his presidency. Why then, has there not been a federal budget passed? Oh, I know, it’s George Bush’s fault.

Why can’t we enforce our immigration laws? Oh, I know, it’s George Bush’s fault.

Why can’t we ask for IDs to vote? Oh, I know, that must be George Bush’s fault also.

Do you sense a theme here?

When are the liberals going to stop blaming George Bush and take some responsibility for their own policies. People are getting excited about gas prices going below $4 a gallon. Why be excited? When George Bush was in office, it was at $1.89 a gallon. But, as usual, the liberals want to blame Bush for that also.

If we don’t vote President Obama out of office we are in for a world of hurt. Think it’s bad now, try another four years of this.

As a very close friend of mine said, “You have to say something positive.” OK, here it is. Peru Central has some of the most gifted teachers around.

How’s that?

Birthright support

TO THE EDITOR: Champlain Valley Birthright would like to thank all who helped to make our Father’s Day Carnation Fundraiser a success.

Birthright offers free confidential help to anyone who is facing difficulties in her pregnancy. We are staffed by trained volunteers and are funded by donations.

We thank the community for their support, Country Expressions Flower and Gift Shop for the beautiful flowers and their help in preparing them, all the churches who participated, and everyone who was involved with the sale of the carnations.
