Editorial: Watch final presidential debate

The final televised debate between President Barack Obama and former Gov. Mitt Romney will take place tonight, and we recommend that everyone watch.

The Democratic president and Republican challenger will meet this time in the swing state of Florida. The debate will take place at Lynn University in Boca Raton, with Bob Schieffer of “Face the Nation” as the moderator.

The format of this debate is identical to that of the first one, so it will be a more formal encounter, not the town-hall-style meeting of last week’s forum.

The focus will be on foreign policy this time, so it is a chance for everyone to hear right from the mouths of the candidates what their plans are for dealing with the many challenges that face the United States in that arena. They are sure to discuss wars, world economies, trade and many other issues that affect us all.

The election is now just about two weeks away, and by all accounts, the race is tight. Whether you have firmly made up your mind who to vote for or are still undecided, it is worth seeing these men discuss how they would handle foreign-policy issues.

Informed voters make the best decisions, so the Press-Republican has provided numerous articles on national, state and local races leading up to the Nov. 6 election, and we encourage you to add to your knowledge by watching tonight’s presidential debate.
