Closure

The weather was bad today so why did a preschool not close early and send the children home early? When the children were released at 2 p.m., the roads were very bad. Is the state aid you get worth more than our kids' lives or your employees' lives? Release them early or give them a snow day.

Wealthy

Most businesses, political leaders, presidents, congressmen and more, say be proud of our marines, soldiers and so on. When Obama talks about us to tighten our belts, not a word of this is being said to the wealthy. The middle class and the poor are the ones that the message is being sent to. Our country's defenders are the military soldiers and the highest taxed individual. Let Obama and all politicians know this in writing. It's time before elections.

Drainage

Reservoir Road in Peru has a serious water-drainage problem. The town needs to put in proper ditches along the roadsides and keep their residents and taxpayers from flooding. Last year, the lots on the left-hand side were flooded out beyond belief, enough so that we flooded out Calkins Road. Treat our road like you did Calkins Road and put in a nice drainage system.

Clothing

I have been from Maine to Spain, Austin to Boston, around the world several times and I have never seen so many people walking on the streets at night while wearing dark clothing. When you are walking around at night, try wearing bright colors, something reflective, or carry a flashlight. It is hard enough for drivers in the North Country due to the lack of sidewalks. So, next time you plan on walking on the side of the road, walking the dog or just out for a walk, use common sense and help the drivers see you.

Catholics

Now is the time for Catholics to mount a crusade against the Obama mandate to force Catholics to go against their conscience in order to provide insurance coverence for services that are against the moral teaching of the church. What an assault for the federal government to do so. Every Catholic should protest this intrusion to our Congress members.

Dogs

You people who let your dogs run around and poop on neighbors' lawn, keep them in your own yard. We have a leash law that says your dog must be on a leash when it is off your property or face a possible fine. Also you could be responsible for the cost to clean up your dog's mess. Photos will prove it is your dog. Keep your dog home.
