Breaks

Congressmen, senators and governors who don’t support your children’s teachers always manage to find a way to provide $14 billion in tax breaks for oil billionaires.

America

What I loved as a kid about America: my family, Disney TV, Bugs Bunny, Rocky and Bullwinkle, God/church, Land of Makebelieve, Expo ‘67, boating/camping, classical music, models of ships and airplanes, playing army, playing drums, dating, making speaker cabinets and stereos from scratch.

Taxes

For 2009, the top 400 taxpayers paid $16.1 billion in federal taxes. The bottom 50 percent (69 million people) paid 19.5 billion. Who’s fooling who? Source: IRS.

Tickets

So you raise taxes on smoking, but there is no taxes on lottery tickets? I’ll take cancer over commerce anytime. Hey! You never know.

Inhale

Dana Reeves never smoked a day in her life, but died of lung cancer. George Burns smoked 6 cigars and drank five martinis every day of his life and lived to be 100. Still want to legalize marijuana? P.S. You have to inhale it.

Gas

If you’re only paying for gas, that’s one thing. If you’re paying for gas and waiting for your food while it’s cooking (waited over 10 minutes), please move your vehicle ahead so that others can gas up.

Pool

I am not sure about this, but when we put up our pool we needed a fence around it. I am very concerned about the children running around a pool that was installed near us. The whole environment is not safe.

School

The school has a policy that states no out of district kids should attend the school. When one family moved, immediately they were told they needed to relocate schools. Another family is allowed to stay this year and now I hear for next year too. The policy was written; follow it.

Coverage

I am extremely interested to see if our local TV station will cover the Mayor’s Cup in the same manner as they spent all week covering the Jazz Festival. Why do people who live in New York and don’t enjoy jazz have to be subjected to this all week long.

Help

Thank you to the local mom & pop hardware store for helping me get everything I needed and being extremely pleasant. Shop local.

Empty

Every time I drive by the empty building on Cornelia Street, I regret the loss of one of the greatest businesses in Plattsburgh. We need some quality meat in this town. Bring back Carsana’s.

Shuttle

The campus shuttle is a great idea, but it only goes until 5 p.m.; there are plenty of classes that go later than that over in Hawkins and Hudson halls, making winter more frustrating when off campus students have to park behind Sibley.

Campers

Why are there campers in Skyway parking lot and why are they allowed to camp overnight?

Parking

Could not believe my eyes, a camper in the Friends Laundromat parking lot, slide out open and a man cooking food, unreal. We have RV parks.
