Mayor praised

TO THE EDITOR: Hats off to our mayor. Time for some good news.In a time when many cities are in a major failure, our mayor has kept things together. He has managed to keep our city departments debt free. He has worked to lower our assessments. He has kept our tax structure in order.

This is only done by long working hours and hard work.

If you ever happen to go by City Hall at 6 in the morning, his car is in its parking place, and the mayor is in his office working.

Don, keep up the good work. You are really appreciated.

Farewell to Sands

TO THE EDITOR: Within a very short period of time, we will be losing an icon of the North Country.

It troubles me to see Paul Sands pack up and leave WPTZ. He is a straight-forward man who tells it as it is. I should say in most cases. His editorial affected both our viewing area, as well as Northern Vermont. No one will ever be able to tell it like he does. He is selective in his thoughts and choice of words.

In my eyes, he is still just a young puppy trying to get house broken. He is not ready for the pasture yet.

Paul, you are a man I’ll never forget. Best of luck in your endeavors.
