Rotary education
TO THE EDITOR: In order to prevent accidents and increase the life span of our car horns, I think it is necessary to clarify how to properly navigate a rotary.

One enters a rotary only when there is an opening, hence the "yield" signs at the entrances. Once one is in the rotary, one has the right of way, and is free to exit anywhere. In entering the rotary it does not matter who got to their entrance first, the way it does at four-way stop signs; nobody has a "turn" to enter the rotary. Each driver simply enters the rotary when there is an opening.

Hopefully this helps.

Children remembered
TO THE EDITOR: In the shadow of the trees and a quaint chapel in Riverview Cemetery, a statue of a dove-winged angel stands watch over the cemetery. Though it rises above tombstones, it marks no burial. Though it claims no body, it is claimed by thousands. The angel's face is that of a child's, its arms raised as a child to be lifted. In its wings are hope.

For the past few years, many families have found comfort and healing in the image of The Christmas Box Angel (Angel of Hope). The spirit of peace and message of hope which surrounds the Christmas Box Angel are not only expressed and shared universally but are also felt at the most intimate level.

It is our hope that you will come to our Candlelight Vigil on Dec. 6 at Riverview Cemetery at 6 p.m. where we will remember all children that have died too young, "Our Little Angels," who are forever in our hearts. You may, if you wish, bring a white flower to lay at the base of the angel, in remembrance of your loved one. Please join us afterwards for hot cocoa and cookies in the foyer at the Chazy Town Hall. Any questions please call Pam Moser at 846-8304 or Diane Trombly at 846-7818.

Grateful for votes
TO THE EDITOR: I just wanted to extend a very gracious and heartfelt thank you to the residents of Peru who chose to place their vote for me on Election Day. Although I did not attain the position of councilman, I am humbled at the outpouring of confidence that I received.

This year's election campaign was filled with hopes and expectations and, along the way. I learned so much from both colleagues and my opponents. I wish nothing but the best for Kregg Bruno, Jim Douglass and Sue Polhemus. Seeing this new slate of council members, I know that, even in my defeat, I still feel, as a resident of Peru, I have won.

Area raped
TO THE EDITOR: What in the world is going on at Wickham Marsh? My wife and I enjoy going for walks there but when we went there this past Sunday we found a huge logging road had been opened at the entrance and clear cutting was going on in the middle of the park! Why is this nature area being raped like this?
