Olympics
Why the concern over the cost of the Obama's trip to attempt to bring hundreds of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars of investment to Chicago and the struggling U.S. economy with the 2016 Olympic games? Was today's commentator as concerned when the Bush family flew to China for four days to watch the Olympics last year? Stop the hypocrisy! Stop the conservative hate speech! You lost the election, live with it. The USA is still a democracy.
Schedule
I have to agree with the person writing in about the high-school football schedule. Why would you split up the JV and varsity? Whoever is on this decision-making board needs to wake up and realize what you're doing to the families. It is obvious that you do not have kids involved and are serving just yourself. Think of the transportation money that could be saved just by playing teams in our own section. The taxpayers are once again footing the bill for self-serving agendas.
Parking
The other day I went to Lowe's and counted 24 handicapped-parking spots, which all happened to be empty.

Editorial: The real reason for the holiday

Memorial Day weekend, being the first big holiday of the sun season, is all about barbecues, picnics and outdoor activities; it is all about family and friends. After a North Country winter, even a fairly mild one like we just had, we need to relax in the sun and enjoy the outdoors.
