Help with Mom
TO THE EDITOR: When I needed some assistance in caring for my mom, Bernadette Carpentier, because I lived out of town, there were friends in Cadyville who were so thoughtful and caring, that I would like to thank them.
Thank you to Phillip and Jane Favro, Lorri Favro and Tom Douglas, Kaitlyn Wood, Chuck and Shari Kostyk, Terry and Barb Ducatte, Father Deno, the Cadyville Rescue Squad, Colleen Monty of the Office for the Aging, and the two women she sent, Mary and Ashley. I also want to thank the staff at Meadowbrook Healthcare on Oakwood West who gave Bernadette excellent care. They were also wonderful to her grandchildren when they spent nights with her. Food, drinks were provided along with a reclining chair to relax in. The care and thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Exciting experience
TO THE EDITOR: Twelve AuSable Valley high-school students returned from France on Feb. 23 after an exciting study abroad experience. The students attended the Centre Mediterraneen d'Etudes Francaises during their February break to study French and experience French culture. Classes were held every morning and then cultural visits to various sites and cities in southern France were taken every afternoon.
They had the pleasure of attending a Mardi Gras parade in Nice and the 77eme Fete du Citron in Menton. The students even walked to the principality of Monaco one evening to walk the famed Formula I route. Additionally, the students flew to Lyon and traveled by train to Paris to see many sights including Fourviere Basilica, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, La Basilique du Sacre Coeur de Montmartre, and the Arc de Triomphe to name a few.
This educational and cultural opportunity would not have been possible without the support of many businesses, organizations and individuals in our community who are too many to name. We would like to thank each and every one of them for their interest in our students and their dedication to seeing that children's lives are enriched through travel and immersion in another culture.
