Aliens

How can we ever solve the problem of immigration? Simply deport all illegal aliens and encourage honest aliens to go through the standard policy for immigrations. We are all for legal immigrants.

Corporations

Leveling the playing field in New York among large and small corporations by making large corporations pay the minimum income tax that was in place years ago would generate hundreds of millions. Lastly, make multi-state corporations pay state taxes, which would generate millions for New York.

Force

If Obama’s Affordable Healthcare Act can force me to buy health insurance, I think there should be a provision in it that forces welfare recipients to do community service.

Shops

I am pleased that the AG of New York is coming down hard on the so-called “head” shops. They know that they’re selling products that are being consumed not for their intended use. These products are dangerous.

Medicaid

In Franklin County, drug dealers are using Medicaid benefits to stock their dope supply. Census Bureau says that 26 percent of U.S. households had someone enrolled in Medicaid. Every time you pay your taxes, you’re helping dealers push drugs to your kids. We told that drug testing people on welfare is wrong?

Thanks

If you sent out graduation announcements to people and in return received a card and money, you should probably send a thank-you note.

Bikers

Motorists, please move over when possible while I am out running or biking. I follow the law and am on the correct side, so please do the same.

Coach

My daughter plays girls varsity soccer. No head coach has been appointed. Who is in charge of finding us a coach? As other teams do off-season preperation, our kids are left wondering who will be in charge.

Robberies

Two robbers in one week. And the assailants are still at large. I am beginning to wonder if Plattsburgh is an easy target for crime. What’s going to happen next? Who will get hurt?

Camping

Local campgrounds were harmed last year due to flooding and could not open. It is imperative that the RV campers that are in the parking lots be stopped and made to use a park. Local businesses rely on campers for their business to survive.

Paving

Schools are cutting teachers’ jobs, school activities and programs because of deficits and budget restrictions, so can someone please explain why it is necessary to re-pave the school bus parking lot at NCCS. I wish I could pave my driveway, but I pay too high school taxes to afford it.

Appreciative

While dining at Friendly’s a few weeks ago, we learned that an older couple took care of our entire bill. They told the manager that something good happened to them and they wanted to pay it forward. They said our son was an inspiration. Thank you from our hearts.

Sign

The new Essex County Jail was a $30 million building project. The facility looks great except for one thing; every summer they drag a big ugly flashing sign between the fence and road. The message is meaningless. The sign needs to be in a construction area.

Fence

City Beach open; locals/tourists are going there. The paths through the beach area and the picnic gazebo are great. What’s up with the orange plastic fence? Ugly! The boardwalk is deep with sand and broken/loose boards. Strollers, bikes, wheelchairs and people with walking issues can’t access. Please fix.
