If your child came to you and told you that they were gay, would you throw them out of the house or abandon them? I’ve seen this happen a few times growing up. It is disheartening. Love your children equally. Being gay is not a choice. Be supportive.
Models
Health-care workers of all levels should be role models for our patients. Those of us that smoke, are obese or are addicted to alcohol should change our behavior or consider changing our occupations.
Thanks
Parents, please teach your children to write thank-you notes. If I take the time to buy graduation cards and send checks, your child should at least say thanks. I am so disappointed in high-school graduates who are quick to cash their checks but fail to say thank you.
Unions
Egged on by ill-informed opinions of the right wing, people constantly bash union workers. The reality is that unions are responsible for much of the improvement in U.S. working conditions that occurred after the Industrial Revolution.
Parade
Cross-dressers in the parade? Gay-pride marches? Why? I don’t care about your sexual orientation. Why do you think it is appropriate to shove it in everyone’s faces? The “look at me” syndrome.

A four-paragraph article at the bottom of the Faith page in Friday’s paper concerning support for Chick-Fil-A. A top-of-the-page article and large color photo of two gay men kissing in protest of Chick-fil-A in Saturday’s paper. To be so biased in your reporting is shameful.
