Customers
I work at a little privately owned store in the Skyway Shopping Center, and I’d like to thank my many customers who are friendly, courteous and patient. You make my day, every day I work. A smile and a little friendly banter is worth more than you might realize.
People
The more people I meet, the more I love my dog.
Uniforms
Liberal Sen. Harry Reid and socialist Bernie Sanders of Vermont are upset that the U.S. Olympic teams’ uniforms are made in China. Well that’s what happens when you borrow 5 trillion from them.
Chimes
Does anyone have a problem with wind chimes in the City of Plattsburgh? It is a noise violation and keeps me up at night. Between my neighbors’ kids at the pool and their chimes, I can’t get any quiet. Somebody should look into this.
Antenna
Reading the July 13 paper, it appears that WPTZ is preparing for a move across the lake. Hearst sold their antenna in New York on Terry Mountain and are doing “upgrades” on their antenna on Mt. Mansfield.
Jobs
How can we Americans let the Canadians come over and steal our jobs? I work right alongside several, do the same job, and I, an American, am being laid off and the Canadian is keeping their jobs.
Sign
Any possibility someone in the local art community would volunteer to restore the sign over the railroad station and restore the D&H logo of the great Delaware and Hudson Railroad Co., original owners of that beautiful station.
Parking
Why do people feel they have to park in the road? It’s so annoying in the Town of Peru when you turn a corner, and there is car on the right side of the road totally in the traffic lane. If you have a driveway, kindly use it.
Truckers
Another spring and summer full of ignorant truck drivers. Thank you to the drivers who make the lives of people on Rapid Road, Stetson Road and Mcrea Road a nightmare. Use your brakes. Maybe a call to the DOT for inspections is needed.
Bingo
The bingo should be changed — too many games so much alike games are won at the same time. You pay good money, just need to arrange games differently. You would get a better crowd.
Pool
As a kid growing up in Watertown, the city had three public swimming pools, and they still do today. The City of Plattsburgh has none. Why is that? Not everyone likes the beach, and not everyone can afford their own pool. We need a public swimming pool.
Gas
When will natural gas be installed on the Banker Road between Route 3 and 22B? It goes by both ends, yet not in between? The residents want it, but it’s not being installed.
Highway
Great job, Altona Highway Department! Thanks, Fred and your men.
