Emergency

Emergency vehicles — what part of that don't you understand? When a trooper is trying to catch up to a speeder, a report of a drunk driver or responding to a call that does not require them activating their emergency equipment are just a few reasons why an emergency vehicle is driving above the posted speed limit.

If you want the roads to be safer, how about getting the license-plate number of those who fail to yield to the men and women who work in the emergency service field?

Border

I have seen several episodes of "Border Wars" and noticed that our southern border is better protected. They have a dirt road that runs the length of the border with Mexico. This road is used to detect footprints when illegal aliens enter.

Have you seen our border with Canada? The Border Patrol can't even drive along it, let alone find footprints of illegal entries.

Who is crossing? Drug smugglers, hardened criminals, gun runners, murderers, rapists, child molesters and, of course, some who want a better life. Why don't we deserve the same protection as those Americans down south?

Taxes

Why should people who own land have to pay school taxes? They are already paying school taxes for their primary residence. We should not be double taxed. If you have a primary residence, OK, you got us — give us a school tax. Yet, when we own land or a rental property, why should we be required to pay even more school taxes? Those people who own and have never had children, why should they pay such huge amounts for school tax? They should not be required to pay the same as those who have children.

Dog

If you know of a service dog that isn't being treated right, does anyone know who to tell? What an honor to have a dog that lives to assist you. How dare someone talk to it mean or treat it mean. You don't deserve this animal.
