TO THE EDITOR:
Adirondack Regional Theatre just concluded its 12th summer season.
We would like to thank the audience members and supporters who made this another successful summer.
ART produced two musicals: “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr.” as our youth production and “Working” as our community musical. We would like to thank the New York State Council on the Arts and the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts for their generosity in providing ART with a Decentralization Grant to partially fund each production.
We would also like to thank our many sponsors, headlined by CVPH Medical Center. Other sponsors include the Rouses Point Champlain Historical Society, Twin State Voice and Data, Clinton Community College, A.N. Downsize
government
TO THE EDITOR:
I do not agree with President Obama’s policies, but that does not mean I am a racist.
Maybe he doesn’t understand that fewer people working means less revenue to support a huge government. He said he would address the debt and deficit. But he added more than 100 new government agencies with hundreds of new government workers. I realize he was a community organizer who handed out grants. But, our country is facing an economic disaster, and the government must be downsized.
Taxing the rich, which will include many small businesses, will still not support a massive government. We haven’t even begun to add all the health-care costs for Obamacare.
We all know he inherited a poor economy. But did borrowing to create a huge stimulus really help? I know Mr. Geithner went to China in May. That means one thing: borrowing to spend more.
The “blame game” has been Bush and Congress, but I believe the president must assume responsibility for this economy. He has not brought people together to solve our problems. It has been “us versus them” for more than three years.
I am very concerned about my country. Mr. Obama has plenty of charisma, but financial skills he does not possess. He said his only mistake was his messaging. Does that mean his re-election means four more years of the same? Can we afford another term of Obama economics? I think not.
