War of 1812 Museum earns grant funding
PLATTSBURGH — The War of 1812 Museum recently received a GO grant of $500 to allow Tammy Rock, museum manager, to attend the 2012 Museum Institute at Sagamore.
The Museum Institute at Sagamore is a reflective, intensive, four-day retreat at Great Camp Sagamore in the Adirondacks that gives New York state museum staff, trustees and volunteers the opportunity to learn, reflect and work with their colleagues from across the state. This year’s program is focused on those who are directing a museum, chairing a board or aspiring toward leadership.
The grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and administered by Museumwise, will allow the War of 1812 Museum to continue meeting their administrative goals, strategic objectives and future plans for growth.
To learn more about the grant programs, eligibility requirements and deadlines, visit www.museumwise.org or contact Museumwise by email at info@museumwise.org or by calling (800) 895-1648.
