Gordie Little to tell stories at Conroys

WEST CHAZY — Conroys Organics will host local author Gordie Little for a time of storytelling from noon to 4 p.m. today on Conroy Farm, 8173 Route 9.

Little will be available to sign his latest book, "Little Champy Goes to School."

Face painting will also be available in the café, and Mary Bushey-Conroy will answer questions about grocery shopping for dietary concerns and provide product information for common food allergies at an open forum. Samples from "The Bakery" and raw and natural foods will be available as well.

Admission is free, and the event is rain or shine.

Fundraiser supports women in Rwanda

MALONE — The second-annual Cooking Challenge to support the Ubushobozi Project, a women's sewing association that formed in Rwanda to empower young women to end the cycle of poverty, will take place today at the Malone Elks Club.

Attendees will taste recipes from local cooks and vote on their favorite dishes. Cocktails are at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30. Tickets are available for $25 per person.

Wildlife Tracking for Kids today in Newcomb

NEWCOMB — Children of all ages are invited to don snowshoes and hit the trails on a guided hike to search for signs of Adirondack wildlife at 10 a.m. today at the Adirondack Interpretive Center, 5922 Route 28N.

"Tracks and Traces: Wildlife Tracking for Kids" will be followed by a fireside chat and toasted marshmallows.

Movie and Pizza Day planned

CHATEAUGAY — Movie and Pizza Day is planned at 1 p.m. today at the Chateaugay Town Hall Theater, 191 East Main St.

"Happy Feet" is the feature presentation. Cost is $3.50 per person and includes a slice of pizza.

Kids can play at special event

PLATTSBURGH — Kids' Cabin Fever Reliever Playtime will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Plattsburgh City Recreation Center (Old Base Gym) on the U.S. Oval.

Children can enjoy a bounce house, crafts, face painting, a comedy magic show at 4:30 p.m. and more. Children who require additional time to acclimate to the gym environment are invited to join organizers at 2:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Autism Alliance of Northeastern NY.
