National Guard to
conduct flight training
BURLINGTON — The Vermont Air National Guard will conduct night flying Tuesday through Thursday next week and Tuesday, Sept. 18, through Thursday, Sept. 20.
Also, the Air Guard will fly a single late-afternoon multi-aircraft operation on Fridays during this period.
During the training, there will be two scheduled multi-aircraft takeoffs, and all F-16s are expected to be on the ground and all operations completed no later than 10 p.m.

Food Drive set as
9/11 service project
PLATTSBURGH — The North Country Regional Volunteer Center, located at the United Way of the Adirondack Region Inc., is remembering 9/11 by holding a three-county food drive as a National Day of Service project.
The food drive will benefit those served by Comlinks in Franklin County, JCEO in Clinton County, ACAP in Essex County, and Family Champions of the North Country in Franklin County.
To participate, bring donations of non-perishable food items on Tuesday to: United Way, 45 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh; JCEO, 54 Margaret St., Plattsburgh; ACAP, Suite 2, 7572 Court Street, Elizabethtown; Comlinks, 343 West Main St., Malone; Family Champions, 46 Pine Street Tupper Lake; and Community Action Agency Outreach Centers located throughout Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties.
Clinton Co. Legislature
to meet Wednesday
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Legislature will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Legislative Chambers of the Government Center at 137 Margaret St.
Among the resolutions to be acted on are: authorizing a contract with BOCES — Franklin, Essex and Hamilton Counties; approving an appointment to the Clinton County Board of Health; and awarding bids for the purchase of equipment.
The meeting is open to the public.
