Guasta named assistant VP at AMC-Mercy
SARANAC LAKE — David Guasta, Ph.D., has been named assistant vice president of long-term care at AMC-Mercy in Tupper Lake.

"David brings with him a great deal of knowledge and experience and has been working as a nursing-home administrator since 1992," said a press release from Adirondack Medical Center.

He steps into the shoes of Don Lewis, who left AMC-Mercy to pursue other professional opportunities.

Guasta's most recent assignment was as a long-term-care consultant, for which presented seminars at the American College of Health Care Administrators on Alzheimer's care and met with hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living organizations to advise on issues such as care, management, marketing and census growth.

He holds a doctorate in gerontology, and his dissertation was on Alzheimer's disease.
