Meeks slated for series of teachings
LAKE PLACID — New Hope Christian Fellowship, 207 Station St., Lake Placid, will host Alex and Sharmaine Meek for a series of teachings at 6:30 p.m. today and Saturday; and 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

The Meeks are from Australia and bring a powerful prophetic ministry, a press release said. All are welcome for each meeting.

on First Communion

PLATTSBURGH — An informational meeting about First Holy Communion for St. Peter's Parish in Plattsburgh will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Seton Academy on St. Charles Street.

Ecumenical service to offer encouragement
CHAMPLAIN — Northern Tier Ministries will join together for a Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Champlain.

The Rev. Al Johnson, pastor of Mooers United Methodist Church, will share God's word about "encouraging and building up each other" based on St. Paul's letter to the church at Thessalonia (4:18 to 5:18).

The service will address the Pfizer closings announced this week, showing support for those whose jobs will be lost.

All are welcome.



U.S. Army chaplain to preach at service
SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Ecumenical Clergy will hold an Ecumenical Service of Thanksgiving Worship at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake, 57 Church St.

The purpose said a press release, "is to give thanks for all the Lord has done for our community."

Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the church. Clergy from local congregations will lead worship. The Rev. Col. Eric Olsen, U.S. Army Chaplain Corps, will preach.

Worshippers are asked to bring a canned or dry good for donation to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Gospel Sing set
BLOOMINGDALE — The Bloomingdale United Methodist Church will host a Southern Gospel Sing Out at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at the church.

Accompanist will be Virginia Hazelton (Gilmore).

All are welcome to join in.
