Vaccines available from Franklin Co.
MALONE — Franklin County Public Health Services will hold the immunization clinics from 9 to 10 a.m. this Wednesday, and Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 125 Catherine St., Franklin County Annex, Malone.

A parent with current immunization records must accompany all children, who are eligible for vaccines if health insurance won't cover the cost otherwise. Health Services is unable to bill insurances for adult vaccines, which include Hepatitis A and B, TD, MMR, Menactra and HPV for ages 19 to 26; tDap through age 64; and the shingles vaccine for those older than 60. Essex Co. clinics scheduled
ELIZABETHTOWN — Essex County Public Health will hold immunization and lead-screening clinics from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 12, 19 and 25 and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at its office at 132 Water St., Elizabethtown; and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 18 at Inter-Lakes Health, 1019 Wicker St., Ticonderoga.

A Well Child Clinic is set for 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at 132 Water St., Elizabethtown.

Fibromyalgia Group to meet Thursday
PLATTSBURGH — The Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Support Group meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at Pine Harbour Assisted Living, 15 New Hampshire Drive, Plattsburgh.

The meetings, held the first Thursday of each month, are open to anyone suffering from chronic pain and fatigue. Family and friends are also welcome.

Talk to focus on pediatric cardiology
PLATTSBURGH — Parents of children with cardiac issues are especially invited to the next session of Mended Hearts of CVPH Chapter 316, set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, in Auditorium B at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Niels Giddins of Burlington, who will present "Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Diseases."

VA to host Women Veterans Health Fair
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Veterans Service Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs Stratton VA Medical Center will hosting its first-ever Women Veterans Health Fair on Nov. 14 at Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 125 in Plattsburgh.

"Women veterans from all eras are encouraged to attend," a press release said. "This day is specifically tailored to answer their questions and help them navigate the VA system."

Nearly 200 women veterans live in Clinton, Franklin and Essex counties the release said. Female National Guard and reservists from both New York and Vermont are invited to attend as well.
