
Concert to benefit childrens programs
MALONE — The fifth-annual Malone Wesleyan Outreach Program Gospel Concert is set for 7 to 9 p.m. today at Malone Middle School.
Proceeds will benefit World Hope International's Education Programs and Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child, both organizations that focus on children, a press release said.
Jessie White and Rochelle Stauffer will perform along with several local gospel groups. A free-will offering will be accepted as admission, Refreshments, cards, calendars and memo pads will be available for purchase.

at hospice service
PLATTSBURGH — A memorial service for hospice patients will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Turnpike Wesleyan Church, 2224 Military Turnpike Road (Route 190), Plattsburgh.
"Family, friends, and caregivers are invited to cherish the lives, share the memories and light a candle to commemorate the life of each hospice patient who died from March through August 2009," a press release said.
The music for the service has been donated by Adirondack Harper Martha Gallagher. After the candle-lighting ceremony, a time for sharing will take place. Refreshments will be served.

Church Women United to meet
TICONDEROGA — Ticonderoga-area Church Women United will celebrate World Community Day 2009 at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at the home of Cathie Burdick, president, 129 The Portage in Ticonderoga.
A brief business meeting will open the event, a press release said. Officers for 2010 through 2012 will be elected then installed by the Rev. Helenmarie Sunkenberg.
A worship and study program will follow, with participants Nancy Reale, Nancy Law, Lois Gunning, Mary Lou Greenough and Grace Trombley. The theme is "Piecing Earth Together" with scripture from the Genesis creation story and discussion on how to help "piece the earth together" through good ecological practices.
Refreshments will follow.
All area women and men are invited to the event.
The local group supports the Ticonderoga Meal Site each month, supplying funds to buy necessities Essex County does not provide. Collections of toiletries are also made at each meeting for the safe house in Ticonderoga.

concert set
CADYVILLE — An evening of contemporary Christian music featuring the group Unity will take place at Cadyville Wesleyan Church, 2083 Route 3, Cadyville at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.
