Kemp to
speak tonight

LAKE PLACID — Tonight at 6:30 p.m. is a presentation by the Rev. Tony Kemp, senior pastor of Embassy Christian Center in Hannibal, Mo., at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 207 Station St., Lake Placid.

Kemp, in the ministry for 30 years, also served as a licensed clinical social worker and certified alcohol and drug counselor, a press release said.

"Pastor Kemp and his wife, Deborah, are used by God in mental, emotional and physical healings and have seen many miracles in their ministry," the release said.

House of Prayer

to hold retreat

ELLENBURG CENTER — Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer, 190 Star Road, Ellenburg Center, will host a retreat, "Blessed Among Women," from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

The Rev. Ted Crosby will guide the day-long retreat as participants meditate on Mary's life and the Rosary. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, confession and Mass will take place, a press release said.

Christian Motorcyclists meeting set
PLATTSBURGH — A Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) chapter is being formed in Clinton County with an informational meeting set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the American Legion 162 Quarry Road, Plattsburgh.

The organization is a Christian ministry outreach for motorcyclists, a press release said.

All are welcome; those who don't own or ride a motorcycle can also participate.

St. Peter's to address climate issues, host walk
PLATTSBURGH — St. Peter's Parish has joined an international effort to ask world leaders to draw up a new global climate treaty that would allow creation of sustainable limits of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Parishioners will sign a promise to take at least one action step on the weekend of Oct. 24 and 25, the time of the conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The goal is to get 350 parishioners to join the International Day of Climate Action, a press release said. For more information go to 350.org.

Also, the Plattsburgh parish is hosting a nature walk at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at Ausable Point State Park.

There is no charge for park entrance, and bus transport is available from St. Peter's at 1:30 p.m.
