Family events coming up
BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts' puppet workshop for ages 3 to 5 is set for noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13. Cost is $10 ($5 for members). Parents are invited.

The annual Family Halloween Party, featuring candy and spooky games for costumed guests, is from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 17. The event is free, but its pumpkin-carving workshop is $10 per pumpkin.

Senior citizen
trip planned

PLATTSBURGH — The deadline is Oct. 14 for Town of Plattsburgh senior citizens to sign up and pay for a trip to the Akwesasne Casino in Hogansburg.

The cost for the Oct. 21 excursion is $5 per person and includes free bus transport and 50 percent off the Native Harvest Buffet. The bus will leave Champlain Centre mall parking lot (in front of Sears) at 9 a.m. then depart from the casino at 3 p.m.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are mandatory, a press release said. Seats available after Oct. 14, will be open to any Clinton County resident. Register by calling 562-6860 or stopping by the Recreation Office on Banker Road between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.

CHAZY — Chazy Presbyterian Church will show the childrens movie "The Velveteen Rabbit" at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the church, located at 620 Miner Farm Road, Chazy.

The event is free and open to all.
